With the rise of the internet, many people have shifted to doing stuff from their homes. People work, order food, watch movies, and more without leaving their homes. Some might be surprised to learn that people have also started playing casino games online instead of going to casinos.

Live Roulette Beginner's Guide

One of the most popular casino games is Roulette. Because of the comfort offered by it, people have switched to Live Roulette. All you need to play Live Roulette is an internet connection and some money to bet. If you want to play Live Roulette as well, you are in the right place. Here is our complete Live Roulette beginner's guide.

What is Live Roulette?

Let’s move on to what Live Roulette actually is. For people that have already experienced Roulette at a casino in person, Live Roulette won't feel that different to them. Live Roulette is one of the most popular live casino games. The rules and gameplay of these types of games are the same as the actual game people play in person at casinos.

The only difference is that you play Live Casino games on a browser by watching the live stream of the casino game with the croupier conducting the game as if you were actually there. The live stream of Roulette is provided by the top live casino sites. You will be paying these betting sites to acquire digital chips for placing bets on the casino game. You can think of betting sites as digital or online casinos.

Live Roulette Gameplay and Technique

The gameplay of Live Roulette is quite simple. The game includes a Roulette table and a Roulette wheel. The Roulette wheel has numbers marked on it from 1 to 36. These numbers are either colored black or red, with a total of 18 blacks and 18 reds. Depending on the variant of the Roulette wheel, there can either be one zero or one zero plus a double zero marked on the wheel.

Roulette starts with the players selecting outcomes and placing bets on them. These outcomes can include numbers like 17 or all the black numbers. All potential outcomes in Roulette are explained in detail in the next section.

After that, the croupier spins the Roulette wheel and throws a metal ball onto the wheel. As the wheel stops, the metal ball will land on one number. If the ball lands on a number that is in line with the outcome you selected, you will win the bet.

As you can see, Roulette is a game completely based on luck. For this reason, there is no technique or strategy you can use for playing Live Roulette. The main purpose of Live Roulette is to have fun.

Roulette Table Breakdown

The Roulette table consists of outside bets and inside bets. The inside bets section includes all the numbers categorized into 12 rows and three columns. On the other hand, three sections along the length and three below the three columns make up the outside bets. On top of all this, there is the zero bet section.

Types of Bets in Live Roulette

There are a ton of outcomes that you can place bets on while playing Roulette, with each one categorized into bet types. Each of these outcomes has a different probability of occurring. For this reason, the return you get for winning is also not the same for each bet type. To help you understand what return you get for what outcomes, here is a complete explanation of all Roulette bet types.

Inside Bets

Straight Up

This is the most basic type of bet in Live Roulette. A straight bet is when you bet on a single number. If you bet on a single number, you get a 35:1 return for winning the bet.

Split

With this bet type, you bet on two numbers instead of one. You do this by placing a bet on the line that splits the two numbers. However, you can't split a bet between two numbers not connected with one line, like 27 and 1. This bet type pays 17:1.

Street

Betting on a complete row of three numbers is called a street bet. The payout is 11:1 for street bets.

Corner

Similar to a split bet, you place a corner bet by splitting it into four numbers. You do that by placing a chip in the center of the four numbers touching all lines that split them into four. The corner bet pays 8:1.

Line

This bet type is also similar to split bets. When you place a bet on two streets (rows of three numbers) connected by one line, it is called a line bet. The payout for this bet is 5:1.

Outside Bets

Red/Black

As the name suggests, you place a bet on all blacks or all reds. The payout for this bet type is 1:1.

Odd/Even

This bet type is also clear from the name. In this bet type, you place all even numbers or all odd numbers. The payout for this bet is also 1:1.

High/Low

With the high/ low bet type, you bet that the ball will land either on numbers from 1 to 18 (low) or from 19 to 36 (high). This bet pays 1:1 as well.

Dozens

This bet type allows you to place a bet on 12 numbers. However, you only have three options, including 1 to 12, 13 to 24, and 25 to 36. The dozen bets pay 2:1.

Columns

With this bet type, you bet on a complete column of numbers. This bet also pays 2:1.

Zero/Double Zero (0/00)

As we have mentioned, the Roulette wheel also includes a zero or a zero plus a double zero. You can also place a bet on a zero or a double zero. The payout for this type of bet is 35:1. You can also select both the zero and the double zero, but then it will become a split bet with a payout of 17:1.
